This notice is to advise that Tremblay Station construction will ramp up in the next few weeks, with work beginning off the west D-ring road at the VIA Rail Station.
WHAT: Crews have started to mobilize equipment to begin the next phase of Tremblay Station construction around the D-ring. Work will include site works, such as modifying the sidewalk, demolishing a portion of the railing on the bridge and relocating the fire hydrant and new watermain. Station works include backfilling, constructing the canopy for the station, pouring/constructing the concourse slab, installing structural steel, completing landscaping, installing interlock brick and tree plantings.
WHEN: Crews have started relocating the existing decorative hoarding around the D-ring and will bring equipment behind the shoring to bring in granular as required.
Phased construction work will begin in early April, at which time the existing VIA Rail electronic parking sign will be relocated.
Work affecting the D-ring road will be timed around VIA Rail’s train schedule so as to have minimum impact on departures and arrivals. If overnight work is required during any of the phased construction activities, we will advise VIA Rail ahead of time.
- The sidewalk around the D-ring will be relocated as per a traffic control plan currently in development. Signage will be erected at the site.
- It is anticipated that an additional 10 construction vehicles will be on site delivering granular and other materials as required. Flaggers will be on site to assist these vehicles in accessing the construction site from the D-ring road.
