This notice is to advise that, as part of the O-Train Confederation Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project, large-scale rock excavation will be taking place at both the east entrance and east tunnel ventilation shaft for Parliament Station.
WHAT: Excavation will be taking place at the east entrance and east tunnel ventilation shaft for Parliament Station.
- East entrance: Excavation activities will include blasting, hoe-ramming, and line drilling.
- East tunnel ventilation shaft: Excavation activities will include hoe-ramming and line drilling.
WHERE: Parliament Station east entrance, at the northwest corner of Queen and O’Connor Streets, adjacent to 155 Queen Street, and the east tunnel ventilation shaft, at the southeast corner of Queen and O’Connor streets, adjacent to 45 O’Connor Street.
WHEN: Works are anticipated to begin in late August 2016, and will be ongoing for approximately 6-8 weeks.
Lining drilling and hoe-ramming will take place during weekdays/weekends as required, as early as 7 a.m.
Blasting will be conducted intermittently Monday to Friday during daylight hours. This is preceded and followed by a series of warning whistles to alert all persons in the vicinity.
