Did you know that jet grouting and compaction grout operations are currently underway at Rideau Station west entrance?
Jet grouting refers to a process of injecting concrete into holes in the ground to mitigate any loose or potentially unstable ground as tunnelling and cavern station work continues. Over the past few weeks, crews have been drilling and observing the soil condition in the area in order to determine the best methods for reinforcing the ground. Grouting equipment, a water treatment plant and a cement mixing plant have been set up on site to help facilitate this work. These activities will be ongoing through December.
