Significant progress was made in March with most stations receiving their occupancy permits; final touch-ups are underway at the remaining stations. Advances have been made on testing and commissioning activities across the alignment. Please feel free to reach out via email at [email protected] if you have questions about the project.
Activities Across the Alignment – Construction Update
Tunney’s Pasture, Bayview, Pimisi, uOttawa, Lees, Hurdman, Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Stations have all received their occupancy permits. This means the stations are complete, safe, and are suitable for occupancy/public use. Final touch-ups and inspections at Parliament and Lyon Stations are underway with occupancy permits expected soon. Rideau Station is undergoing final touch-ups which include painting, tiling, signage installation, and ongoing electrical work. The installation of tactile wayfinding strips is also underway.
Testing and commissioning activities are ongoing; significant progress has been made in the past few weeks. Crews have successfully been running 20 trains simultaneously on the alignment. Thales has also been testing the Computer Based Train Control (CBTC) system onboard these trains. More coupled trains will be seen on the alignment in the coming weeks. Testing activities will continue to involve launching and reducing trains on and off the network to and from the Belfast Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF) in the coming weeks.
