Construction Update

Multiple trains are running a closed loop between Blair and Tunney’s Pasture Station in full Automatic Train Operation (ATO). The western stations progress with mechanical and electrical finishing touches. Final architectural finishes and art work are installed at the central stations.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station
Crews continue  with mechanical and electrical finishing works. Crews are finalizing  the Scott Street frontage; this includesplacing interlock pavers around the southwest entrance lantern. Public washrooms are substantially complete and the Bus Loop emergency gate installation is underway.

Bayview Station
Finishing works continue which include caulking at expansion joints, remaining panel installations, and Multi-Use Pathway (MUP) lighting repairs northeast of the station. Various electrical and mechanical finishes remain.

Pimisi Station
Miscellaneous mechanical and electrical finishing works occur at the station. Architectural finishes include the remaining glass at stairways and completion of the elevator shrouds. Fair gate commissioning underway at the different entrances.

Central Stations

Lyon Station
Installation of the public art at the concourse is anticipated to begin this week. Testing and commissioning activities are ongoing. Finishing works and final touch-ups are underway.

Parliament Station 
Platform benches have been installed. The remaining ceiling panels continue to be put in. Miscellaneous finishing works and final touch-ups are underway. Testing and commissioning activities are ongoing.

Rideau Station 
The digital signband is installed at the platform. Stair and elevator glazing installations take place, while tactile wayfinding strips and utility cabinets are also installed. Painting and tiling continues.

uOttawa Station
Final touch-ups are underway as testing and commissioning activities continue.

East Stations

Stations along the eastern alignment, including Lees, Hurdman, Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Station, are undergoing final touch-ups as testing and commissioning activities continue.

Guideway and Testing

Testing and commissioning is moving towards the western stations. New vehicles are being tested and introduced into the fleet. Multiple trains are running a closed loop between Blair and Tunney’s Pasture Station in full ATO.

Upcoming Construction Activities

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Installation of public art at Tremblay Station
  • Testing and commissioning of systems in the west
  • Installation of light standards on Nicholas Street along uOttawa Station
  • Increased vehicle testing
