Construction Update

End-to-end testing at line speed (50 km/hr) and coupled train testing continues.  At stations along the western alignment, features such as bike racks and wood ceilings are undergoing installation. Landscaping works as well as testing and commissioning continue across the alignment. Architectural finishing works are progressing at the three underground stations downtown.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station
The wood ceiling installation nears completion along with remaining ceiling panels. Along the south side of the station near Scott Street, landscaping activities continue.

Bayview Station
Crews work to finish the south and east entrance areas. The east plaza has had bike racks and planters installed. Mechanical and electrical commissioning continue.

Pimisi Station
Crews will be installing the remaining elevator shrouds, tactile wayfinding strips, O-Pylons, and miscellaneous flashing. Commissioning of mechanical items continues.

Central Stations

Lyon Station
Testing and commissioning activities are ongoing. Final touch-ups occur. Remaining signs, inter-track barriers, light fixtures and benches are installed. The elevators near completion and are prepared for final TSSA inspection.

Parliament Station 
Painting at the concourse wraps up, remaining floor tiles are installed and ceiling installations progress. Glazing is installed at the elevators, escalators and stairway. Lights are installed at the platform.

Parliament Station – west entrance
Tiling continues and handrails are put in. Exterior roof works continue. Escalator cladding is installed.

Parliament Station – east entrance
Exterior roof work progresses. Wall and floor tiling continue while handrail installations continue.

Rideau Station 
Digital signband covers and lighting are installed, while utility cabinets and escalator cladding installations continue.

Rideau Station – west entrance
Installation of the public art wall glazing and fare gates are complete on the concourse. Ticket machines have been installed. Installation is underway for glazing and cladding of the elevators and stairs ; handrail installation will follow.

Rideau Station – east entrance 
Sign installations are underway. The public art wall glazing installations on the concourse are complete as wall tiling continues.

uOttawa Station
Miscellaneous finishing works are underway as testing and commissioning activities continue.

East Stations

Stations along the eastern alignment, including Lees, Hurdman, Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Station, are undergoing  variousfinishing works as testing and commissioning activities continue.

Guideway and Testing

Guideway intrusion detection system commissioning has started. Trains are running in Automatic Train Operation (ATO) mode throughout the alignment. Vehicles are being tested at line speed (50 km/hr) with some end-to-end runs being conducted at line speed. Coupled train testing continues.

Upcoming Construction Activities

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Reinstatement of East Portal construction site including the southern section of Waller Street
  • Integrated entrance completion at Lyon, Parliament, and Rideau Stations
  • Installation of public art at Tremblay and Hurdman Stations
  • Architectural finishes and landscaping works at the western stations
