Train testing across the alignment is progressing with trains moving at increased speed and frequency. More coupled trains are moving on the tracks. Public art is undergoing installation at Rideau Station as landscaping work in the west continues. Various finishing architectural works are still underway at the central portion of the alignment at Parliament, Rideau, Lyon and uOttawa Stations.
Tunney’s Pasture Station
The wood ceiling installation nears completion. Interlock pavers have been successfully installed at the southwest entrance to the bus loop. Crews continue working toward the completion of mechanical and electrical works following the wood ceiling installation.
The south and east entrance plazas are finalized. Elevators undergo final commissioning.
Soft landscaping continues east of the station, below Booth Street. The lower concourse entrance lantern has been installed. Miscellaneous works remain in the station, including ceiling panels around the north elevators.
The elevators near completion and are prepared for final TSSA inspection. Miscellaneous works remain while fare gate testing continues.
Fare gates continue to undergo testing, painting of the concourse continues and installation of lighting and benches on the platform progresses.
Parliament Station – west entrance
Tiling at the vestibule doors and stairways is ongoing. Escalator cladding and aluminum roof panels are installed.
Parliament Station – east entrance
Exterior roof works are ongoing. The wood ceiling and wall tiles continue to be installed. Handrails are put in.
Preparatory works for the wayfinding signs occur, while the installation of escalator cladding continues. Floor tiling, ceiling panels, platform walls and digital signband covers are installed.
Rideau Station – west entrance
The installation of the art wall glazing and wall tiles are ongoing. Stair and escalator cladding continue to be installed. Handrails are put in, and fare gate installation is underway.
Rideau Station – east entrance
The art wall glazing installation progresses, while fare gates are installed at the concourse. Handrails, wall and floor tiling are installed throughout the station.
Electrical signage and Multi-Use Pathway (MUP) wayfinding signage are installed. Landscape pavers are going in at the south end of the station.
Stations along the eastern alignment, including Lees, Hurdman, Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Station, are undergoing miscellaneous finishing work as testing and commissioning activities continue.
Guideway and Testing
Trains are tested at increased speeds and frequencies along the entire alignment. The number of coupled trains is increasing on the track. Communications-Based Train Control (CTBC) systems testing in the tunnel has occurred. In the east, trains are moving in Automatic Train Operation (ATO) mode between Blair and uOttawa Stations. Train assembly continues.
Upcoming Construction Activities
In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:
- Reinstatement of East Portal construction site including the southern section of Waller Street
- Integrated entrance completion at Lyon, Parliament, and Rideau Stations
- Installation of public art at Tremblay and Hurdman Stations
- Architectural finishes and landscaping works at the western stations
