Construction Update

In the west, wood ceilings, station signage, and electrical finishes are being installed. The downtown stations progress with architectural work. Glazing on the Rideau Station art wall is expected to be installed soon. Miscellaneous finishes occur at the eastern stations. Crews are making progress as they increase  the number of coupled trains running on the track.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station
Miscellaneous work remains to be completed, including concrete work near the bus loop. In the station wood ceiling work in ongoing, with mechanical and electrical finishes to follow.

Bayview Station
Crews work to complete handrails at stairways and install the remaining occupancy signage. There are some ongoing miscellaneous works at the platform.

Pimisi Station
Crews will be working to complete architectural finishes, the entrance lantern, the signage, and the public artwork.

Central Stations

Lyon Station
Pipe insulation and electrical door systems are installed. Light fixtures are put in, as is the signage above the doorways. Escalator cladding is installed and painting concludes.

Parliament Station 
Tiling of the east and west end walls is now complete. Glazing installation at the elevators, escalators and stairs takes place. Signage is hung and painting occurs. Installation of the digital signband and Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) progress.

Parliament Station – west entrance
Electrical works are ongoing and the vestibule doors continue to be installed. Tile and ceiling work progresses.

Parliament Station – east entrance
Activities include floor and wall tiling, handrail installations and interior stainless-steel works.

Rideau Station 
Ceiling grid and tiles are installed throughout the station and platform tiling nears completion.

Rideau Station – west entrance
Escalator cladding is installed this week. At the concourse, wall tiling continues;  glazing on the public art wall will be installed in the coming weeks. Fare gates are scheduled to be be installed shortly.

Rideau Station – east entrance 
Utility cabinets have been installed and steel framing for the escalator cladding concludes. Work on the fare vending machine wall has begun. Ceiling and floor tiling continues. Fare gates and the art wall glazing will be installed in the coming weeks.

uOttawa Station
Crews are completing glass panels, the elevator shroud and back-lit lanterns. Other work will focus on installation of the remaining signage and landscape pavers.

East Stations

Lees Station
Crews install miscellaneous glass and wood ceiling finishes. The back-lit entrance will soon be completed. Elevators are in the process of final commissioning.

Hurdman Station
Final finishing work is ongoing, while testing and commissioning occurs.

Tremblay Station
Miscellaneous items are worked on, while testing and commissioning occurs.

St-Laurent Station
Miscellaneous items are worked on, while testing and commissioning occurs.

Cyrville Station
Miscellaneous items are worked on, while testing and commissioning occurs.

Blair Station
Remaining signage is installed, and the bus loop is being finalized.

Guideway and Testing

This week, crews are progressively increasing the number of coupled trains running on the track. Trains are tested at increased speeds and frequencies along the entire alignment. In the east, trains are moving in Automatic Train Operation (ATO) mode between Blair and uOttawa Stations. Train assembly continues.

Upcoming Construction Activities

 

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Reinstatement of East Portal construction site including the southern section of Waller Street
  • Integrated entrance completion at Lyon, Parliament, and Rideau Stations
  • Installation of public art at Tremblay and Hurdman Stations
  • Architectural finishes and landscaping works at the western stations
