In Parliament Station, the ceiling installation is underway at both the east entrance concourse area, while at Rideau Station exterior glass and siding installations advance, and the art wall progresses on the east entrance landings and stairs. In the western segment, the full height glass continues to go up while remaining elevator and escalator works are underway. At Bayview, the O-Train extension to the station is now complete.
Tunney’s Pasture Station
Crews perform work on staircase glazing, glazing on the roof, and de-icing cables for the roof and gutter. Door installations and finishes to the washroom areas are also underway.
The installation of full height glazing continues. Work to complete the escalator cladding is also anticipated. Crews have completed the extension of the Trillium Line trackwork to Bayview Station.
Crews are putting in the utility cabinets and the remaining occupancy signage. Wood ceilings are being finalized. Stair handrail installations are scheduled. Landscaping works continue on the north and south sides of the lower concourse entrance and multi use pathway (MUP) areas.
Ceiling installations are the focus this week, which are ongoing at all three station levels, the entrance, concourse and platform. In addition, crews continue to install utility cabinets, the remaining doors, and the fire alarm system, as well as put up station signage. Fare gate testing is underway.
The station’s platform, concrete works and ceiling grid installations continue. The utility cabinets advance as frame installation concludes and equipment begins to be installed. At the concourse, painting and HVAC rough-ins occur.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the summer months to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.
Parliament Station west entrance
The installation of wood ceiling panels and floor tiles occur at the grade level entrance. At the concourse, stair tiles and escalator cladding is installed and the ceiling is worked on.
Parliament Station east entrance
Crews begin working on the concourse ceilings. Stair tiling continues, in advance of next week’s hand rail installations, and tiling progresses at the east escalator wall. Next week, light fixtures will be put up.
Mechanical and electrical rough-ins are ongoing, and installation of the art wall progresses. Fan installation wraps up and bike rail installations occur at the concourse level. Down at platform level, elevator installations, escalator commissioning, and ceiling grid installation takes place.

Rideau Station west entrance
Enclosures for the stairway and escalators continue to be constructed. Bike rail installation tiling occurs as well. At the concourse level entryway, tiling, ceiling installation, and mechanical and electrical works are ongoing.
Rideau Station east entrance
Elevator installation and escalator commissioning continue. Exterior glass and siding installations advance, and work to prepare the escalator control room wraps up. At the stair landings, hand railing posts and the art wall are installed. Next week, floor tiling will commence at the concourse level.
Work on the entrance lobby to the westbound platform continues, including lighting finishes, utility cabinets and occupancy signage. Installation of wood ceilings will begin soon, with mechanical and electrical finishes to follow. Bike shelter installations are expected in August.
The installation of the full height glazing panels continue. Glazing in the canted wall is scheduled to begin soon. Utility cabinet mechanical installations are ongoing, and crews are also completing occupancy signage.
Composite metal panels and wood ceilings are in their final stages of installation. Work on the fare gates and fare vending machines continue. Public art installations are anticipated to begin in the next two weeks.
Installation of the back-lit entrance lantern is anticipated to begin this week. Elsewhere, station elevators and transit information panels are being finalized.
Utility cabinets, occupancy signage, and tactile wayfinding indicator strips are being finalized.
Crews are working on the installation of doors and hardware, while other testing and commisioning activities occur.
Composite and glass panels are being installed at the fare gates. Elsewhere utility cabinets and platform doors are being finalized.
Guideway and Testing
Last week, a second train was moved into the western segment for testing. Over in the east, regular train testing including communications-based train control (CBTC) maturity tests continue. Assembly of LRV34 progresses.
Upcoming Construction Activities
In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:
- Select Rideau work-zones to be removed or reduced in phases throughout the summer.
- Digital signband, light-band, fare-gates and entrance lantern installations at western stations.
- Completion of stairs at the S-MUP (multi-use pathway) at uOttawa Station.
- Skylight glazing installation at Tunney’s Pasture Station.
