This notice is to advise that, as part of the O-Train Confederation Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) Project, Rideau Street will be completely closed overnight this weekend.
WHAT: Rideau Street will be closed to all traffic for one weekend in order for watermain work to take place at Rideau Station west entrance.
WHERE: Rideau Street will be closed between Sussex Drive and Dalhousie Street.
WHEN: From 10 p.m. Friday, September 23 to 6 a.m. Monday, September 26.
WHY: To install a new watermain service crossing Rideau Street under the Rideau Centre pedestrian overpass and cutting and capping the existing watermain.
PEDESTRIAN & CYCLING IMPACTS
- Pedestrian and cycling access will be maintained and flaggers will be on site as required.
TRAFFIC & TRANSIT IMPACTS
- Rideau Street remains closed to general vehicular traffic. OC Transpo and STO buses will be rerouted to Mackenzie King Bridge. A detour will also be put in place for taxes and delivery vehicles during this work.
RESIDENTIAL & BUSINESS IMPACTS
- Noise levels are anticipated to be moderate.
