Update on Rideau Street infrastructure failure:
Repair crews continue working on affected services in the area of the infrastructure failure. Repairs to the sanitary and storm sewer pipes are substantively complete. The next steps will involve backfilling the site to the level of the watermain pipes and allowing crews to begin reinstating the water main.
Pumping continues to remove water from the tunnel and is being treated before being directed into the sanitary sewer system for full treatment at the City’s wastewater treatment plant.
All but only a handful of businesses in the area are up and running with full utilities.
