Tunney’s Pasture Station: crews continue temporary bus loop construction in preparation for the June 24 West Transitway Service Adjustment – Phase 2; activities include electrical installations, foundation work for the supervisor’s building and pouring the concrete platform.
Here you see Bayview Station, where caisson installation is ongoing as part of preliminary foundation work for the station.
Pimisi Station: initial station work continues and includes excavation and material removals.
Lyon Station cavern: progress continues at Lyon Station as crews finalize waterproofing of the station arch in preparation for final lining work. Crews install rebar and pour concrete for the future station concourse level. Work on the station columns continues over the coming weeks.
Lyon Station west entrance: excavation of the station entrance nears completion and includes blasting, hoe ramming and material removals. At the west vent shaft, hoe ramming and material removals are ongoing. At the HVAC shaft, crews resume material removals. At the east vent shaft, crews excavate and install reinforcements.
Lyon Station east entrance: demolition and removal of the foundation wall is ongoing in preparation for future structural steel work. The station elevator begins to take shape as crews install rebar and pour concrete for the shaft. Electrical relocations are finalized and crews begin the next phase of work.
Parliament Station cavern: construction progresses as crews waterproof the station arch. Initial work to build the elevator and escalator areas has gotten underway and includes rebar installation.
Here you see Parliament Station west entrance, where crews form and pour the deck slab, install piles and pour concrete for the stairs.
At the west vent shaft, crews install reinforcements and begin excavation.
At the east vent shaft, crews begin preliminary work including removing asphalt and installing soldier piles.
Parliament Station east entrance: crews install structural steel and beams as the station concourse level begins to take shape.
Here you see Rideau Station cavern, where Crocodile Rouge completes station excavation as cews continue station concrete work including rebar installation and concrete pours.
At the East Portal, preliminary ramp work occurs including utility relocations and shoring.
Rideau Station west entrance: crews continue excavation and a portion of the station begins to take form as crews waterproof and install formwork for grade beams. Crews install micro-piles and spray shotcrete as part of initial escalator work.
Rideau Station east entrance: crews continue waterproofing and finalize crane installation in preparation for future formwork. At the west vent shaft, crews install rebar to prepare for concrete work.
uOttawa Station: preliminary station work continues including demolition, removals, lagging and excavation.
Here you see Lees Station, where crews demolish the walkways and electrical room as part of preliminary station work.
Here you see Hurdman Station construction continuing, as crews waterproof the escalator and elevator area. Crews also install pier caps and grade beams beneath the elevated guideway structure as part of station foundation work. Excavation, backfilling, grading and electrical work occur as part of permanent bus loop construction. Preparations continue for concrete pours at the bus operators’ building.
Tremblay Station: station construction progresses as crews install rebar and pour concrete for the station footings and platform walls. Work also includes duct bank installation and concrete pours for the elevator and suspended slabs. Work on the watermain continues.
St-Laurent Station: crews prepare to install structural steel and continue concrete pours for the elevator shaft. Trackwork activities are ongoing including pouring the fixation slab.
Cyrville Station: progress at the station is visible as crews install the metal roof deck and structural steel. Crews begin working on the second floor concourse falsework.
Blair Station: the station continues to take shape as crews continue installing the metal roof deck. Waterproofing, backfilling and structural steel installation are ongoing. Trackwork continues in the station with ballast installations.
Tunnel Excavation and Support
Here you see the running tunnel east of Parliament Station, where excavation nears completion as roadheader Chewrocka continues east toward Rideau Station. Tunnel arch pours are ongoing, part of final lining works.
Guideway – East Portal to Rideau River Transitway Bridge and Belfast Yard to Blair Station
East Portal to Rideau River Transitway Bridge: the next phase of guideway activities continue moving west including excavation for OCS foundations and trenching and installing duct banks.
Here you see crews pouring the lower deck at the Hurdman Station Elevated Guideway. Crews are also forming the east abutment wing walls and installing rebar on the platform deck.
Belfast Yard to Tremblay Station: crews install ties and pour concrete as part of trackwork activities.
St-Laurent Station to Blair Station: crews continue track alignments and tamping.
CPR Bridge near Bayview Station: crews demolish the bridge abutments and install caissons as part of preliminary bridge renewal works.
Here you see the Booth Street Bridge, where crews continue working on the bridge sidewalks; activities include concrete pours and installing rebar for bridge parapets.
Scott Street: Paving and line painting takes place on Scott Street between Merton Street and Smirle Avenue in advance of Phase 2 of the West Transitway Service Adjustment on June 24.
