Waterproofing in Lyon Station Cavern - Imperméabilisation de l’espace souterrain de la station Lyon

Lyon Station

In Lyon Station cavern, crews pour concrete for the L-walls. Rebar installation and concrete pours for the transition walls occur. In the running tunnel between Lyon and Parliament stations, waterproofing, rebar installation and concrete pours are ongoing, part of tunnel arch final lining work.

Parliament Station

In Parliament Station cavern, Jawbreaker completes mining the south bench and crews continue cavern support activities such as shotcrete. In the running tunnel, excavation continues east past the National War Memorial, supported by shotcrete and rockbolt installation.

Rideau Station

In Rideau Station cavern, Crocodile Rouge mines the central pillar and crews continue cavern support activities.

Downtown Integrated Stations and Entrances – Lyon, Parliament and Rideau Stations

Lyon Station west entrance: crews excavate and install wire mesh and shotcrete as part of support activities. At the HVAC shaft, crews complete excavation. At the west vent shaft, crews mobilize to begin shoring and continue piling.

Lyon Station east entrance: crews install formwork and rebar and begin shoring.

Parliament Station west entrance: at the parking level, crews install rebar, formwork and pour concrete for the escalator. On the ground level, crews continue working on the stairs by installing formwork, rebar and pouring concrete.

Parliament Station east entrance: concrete pier and column reinforcements take place on the concourse level. Demolition and removals are ongoing.

Traffic restrictions on Queen and O’Connor streets switch to the west side of O’Connor Street.

Rideau Station east entrance: blasting, hoe ramming and material removals continue.

Rideau Station west entrance: excavation continues, along with support activities such as whaler beam installation and tiebacks. West vent shaft work continues on the north side of Rideau Street, including piling and shoring activities.

Traffic restrictions on Rideau Street remain in effect.

Structural steel installations at Blair Station - Installation des structures d’acier à la station Blair

Pimisi, Hurdman, Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Stations

Pimisi Station: crews complete mobilization and prepare to excavate.

Hurdman Station: excavation for the escalators and elevators occurs, along with installation of the mud slab. Crews continue underground station plumbing work. Permanent bus loop construction begins with site preparations including mobilizing trailers and fencing.

Tremblay Station: crews continue pouring walls, platform beams and walls, footings and the stairwell. Backfilling at the platform occurs. Granular installation at the west ring road at VIA Rail Station continues.

St-Laurent Station: concrete pours, masonry, work on the structural slab, and mechanical and electrical works are ongoing. Crews finalize work on the plenum and begin installing the sanitary sewer and structural steel. Excavation, backfilling and rebar installation occur.

Cyrville Station: backfilling and mechanical, electrical and structural steel installations occur.

Blair Station: crews work on the suspended slabs, form the elevator shaft and complete mechanical work. Structural steel installations are ongoing.

Tunney’s Pasture Station

Crews install jersey barriers, fencing and continue excavating as part of temporary bus loop construction for service in late June 2016. This allows for work on the future LRT station and tracks to begin in July 2016.

Guideway Construction – Booth Street Bridge and Hurdman Station

Booth Street Bridge: crews continue formwork on the deck and abutments.

Hurdman Station Elevated Guideway: crews form the deck and begin working on the platform.

Crews return onsite on the guideway east of St-Laurent Station to past Tremblay Station to resume work on foundations and complete duct banks.

  • Upcoming Queen Street road closure (between Bank and O’Connor streets) to complete watermain and sewer relocations.
  • Watermain work near St-Laurent Station.
  • Final watermain installations on Tremblay Road at the intersection of Belfast Road.

  • Excavation of the ramp at West Portal.
