Scott Street Widening
Crews continue excavating and installing catch basins, part of Scott Street widening work from Carruthers to Holland avenues.
Jawbreaker mines the central pillar and drifts. Crews continue drilling and tunnel reinforcements. Arch concrete pours are ongoing in sections of the running tunnel.
Lyon Station East and West Entrance
East Entrance: removals continue at the concourse level in Place de Ville. Rebar and formwork installations occur.
West Entrance: removals of asphalt and installation of manholes continues. Preparations for shoring and drilling at the entrance are ongoing.
Parliament Station Cavern
Tunnel reinforcements occur this week, including drilling and grouting of the umbrella. Mining in drifts continues this week in the Parliament Station cavern.
Crocodile Rouge mines the elevator niches and HVAC adit. Drilling and grouting of the umbrella continues in the station cavern. Waterproofing and mud slab pours are ongoing in the running tunnel.
Rideau Station East and West Entrance
East Entrance: excavation and preparations for shoring installation occur at the entrance.
West Entrance: crews finalize traffic set-up and relocate utilities and hydrants, part of preliminary work for the station entrance.
Crew begin traffic set-up for the relocation of the utility corridor bank under and adjacent to the Transitway at Nicholas Street, in anticipation of uOttawa station construction in 2016.
Crews continue removing the existing island and placing granular for the new bus platform. Conduit and lighting installations occur. The bus loop will be used during station construction later this fall. Pathway realignment will be in place until station construction works are complete.
Tremblay, St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Stations
Crews continue demolition of the existing structures onsite at Cyrville and Blair stations. St-Laurent Station works continue with set-up and removals. Mobilization occurs for the next week at Tremblay Station. Pathway realignment around the stations continue and will be in place until construction is complete.
Guideway construction – Booth Street Bridge
Construction continues at the bridge’s south abutment and includes installation of rebar. Crews finalize works on the pier caps.
Guideway construction – Hurdman Station
Work continues on the pier caps and crews prepare the elevated guideway columns for girders. Construction of the embankment is ongoing east of the station. Pathway realignment will be in place until construction is complete.
Guideway construction – Tremblay Station
Crews continue reinforcing the protection system east of VIA Rail Station. Pathway realignment will be in place until construction is complete.
Guideway construction – St-Laurent, Cyrville and Blair Stations
Crews install duct banks and sewers along this section of guideway. Preparations continue to install caissons for the overhead catenary poles.
Belfast Yard Administration and Maintenance Building and Yard
Crews complete flooring, doors and stairs this week. Saw cutting and installation of rails occurs in the maintenance and sanding areas. Aluminium panels are installed on the exterior of the building’s main entrance.
Belfast Yard Vehicle Storage Shed, Yard and Connector Works
Ballast tamping is ongoing in the shed and yard. Crews begin constructing the access to the main entrance and finalize curbs, paving and sidewalks in the yard. Installation of the infrastructure for the retaining pond occurs. Slab work for tracks, backfilling, landscaping and vent construction are ongoing at the connector.
