Construction Update

There has been substantial visible progress on the Confederation Line. The O-Train track extension advances, station public art is being installed, and landscaping occurs throughout the alignment. The East Portal backfilling is now complete, the Rideau Station west entrance escalator is substantially complete and fare-gates are being installed at St. Laurent Station.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Topping slabs for the concourse and the east-bound and west-bound platforms continue. In the bus loop, the new bus operator building, bus supervisor office, and maintenance building are under construction. Work on the roadway in the bus loop is also scheduled to take place.

Bayview Station 
The current activities at Bayview Station include work on the east-platform topping slabs, de-icing cables for the roof and gutter; and the O-Train track extension. Crews will also be continuing landscaping work and constructing the east side entrance.

Pimisi Station
​Platform weatherproofing and waterproofing continues. Installation of composite panels in the lower concourse is expected to conclude in the coming weeks. Landscaping activities continue this month. Construction of the Booth Street Bridge bike lanes is also expected to commence shortly.

Escalator installations between the platform and concourse levels progress at Rideau Station 2018-06-05

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
The installation of communications devices concludes this week. Other works throughout the station include tiling and intumescent painting. The installation of light fixtures, fire alarm system, concourse ceiling panels, and fare-gate barriers progress as well.

Parliament Station 
Elevators progress with curb and glazing installations. Masonry walls are under way, hardware is installed and mechanical and electrical rough-ins continue at the platform level. Tiling and conduit installations advance as well.

Parliament Station west entrance
Tiling takes place at the concourse level and grade level entrance. Additionally, masonry walls are installed and so is the wood panel ceiling. At the west tunnel ventilation system (TVS), rebar and formwork continues to be installed for the third concrete pour.

Parliament Station east entrance
The roofing system is installed, remaining mechanical and electrical works for the stairway take place, and glazing is installed for the lower portion of the east façade.
At the east TVS, hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the summer months to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Ongoing construction at uOttawa Station 2018-06-05

Rideau Station
Conduits, elevator motors, and escalators are being installed at Rideau Station. At the platform level, mechanical and electrical installations proceed, lighting and ceiling insulation are installed and painting occurs.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the summer months to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.   

Rideau Station west entrance

The installation of the longest transit escalator in Canada is now substantially complete. Elsewhere, concrete works, tile installation and ongoing mechanical and electrical works progress.

Rideau Station east entrance 
The stair landings advance with tiling, escalator commissioning, and ceiling installation. Mechanical and electrical installation continues as does wall and intumescent painting. There is also work to finish the escalator control room.

East Portal 

Backfilling of the cut and cover portion of the tunnel has concluded. Contact grouting occurs in the Rideau Station transition.

uOttawa Station

Current work focuses on the fare-gates, the utility cabinets, the entrance lantern, and the glass panels along the Nicholas Street side of the station. Crews will also be completing the gutter and plumbing system for the north and south

East Stations

Lees Station
Work continues on the east-bound topping platform and mechanical and electrical finishes in the ceiling. The fare-gates are in progress. The canopy roof glazing installation is scheduled. Other scheduled installations include the public art.

Hurdman Station
The work to install CMP is scheduled to conclude shortly. Handrail posts and windscreen glazing will also be going in. There is also work anticipated for the north platform and south platform topping slabs.

Tremblay Station
Fare-gate installation continues this month and utility cabinets will be going in. Handrail installation and work to install furnishings such as benches and floor grilles are also scheduled.

Signage installation is underway at Blair Station 2018-06-01

St-Laurent Station
Crews are installing finishes to the flooring such as warning tiles and floor grilles. Utility cabinets will be installed. The fare-gates and entrance lanterns are being finalized. Other anticipated installations are the public art work.

Cyrville Station

Wood ceilings will be installed in the coming weeks. Crews will also work on the remaining signage, as well as the windscreens at the fare gates. Furnishings such as bike shelters and metal benches will also be going in.​

Blair Station

Utility cabinets and platform doors are being finished. Fare gate equipment and glazing installations have begun. Backlit entrance lantern installations will be underway soon. Public art installations are on

LRV testing near the MSF connector tunnel 2018-06-02

Guideway and Trackwork
Regular train-testing occurs between Blair and uOttawa Stations and OLRTC is looking ahead to the extension of regular train-testing through to Segment 1, encompassing the three Western stations, in the near future. Segment 1 and the Tunnel will eventually be brought on to OCS power on a full time basis. Assembly of LRV34 continues.

Upcoming Construction Activities

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Wood ceilings continue to go up in the eastern stations.
  • Digital signband, light-band, fare-gates and entrance lanterns are being installed.
  • Completion of stairs at the S-MUP at uOttawa Station.
  • Addition of bike lanes on the Booth Street Bridge.
  • Windscreen glass installation at Tunney’s Pasture Station.
  • Installation of stray current monitors at locations along the guideway.
  • Skylight glazing installation at Tunney’s Pasture Station.
  • Rideau Station west TVS grate installation.

Construction Update

At Tunney’s Pasture Station, crews will be working on the topping slabs and the service rooms, while at Bayview Station; crews will be completing composite metal panel (CMP) installations and elevator glazing. At Rideau Station, there is ongoing painting, ceiling and electrical work to complete the East Entrance. Across the eastern stations, current activities include installation of glass panels, utility cabinets, fare-gate equipment, and entrance lantern glass and lighting.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Work continues on the bus operator building, bus supervisor office, and maintenance building. Topping slabs for the concourse and the  eastbound and westbound platforms continue.

Bayview Station 
There is continuing work on the east plaza and the east stairs. The installation of CMP in the north and south roof are ongoing.

Pimisi Station
Platform weatherproofing and waterproofing continues. Installation of CMP in the lower concourse are expected to conclude in the coming weeks. Construction of the Booth Street Bridge bike lanes is scheduled to being next week.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Architectural works are ongoing at the station. Crews are busy installing the fire alarm system, light fixtures and communication devices. Intumescent painting, ceiling panel installations and tiling occur as well.

Parliament Station 
At the platform level, insulation, mechanical and electrical rough-ins are installed for the HVAC system. Concourse tiling, hardware installations, work on the elevators, and communications installs occur as well.

Parliament Station west tunnel vent shaft (TVS)
Rebar installation, formwork, and the third concrete pour takes place this week.

Parliament Station east TVS
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the summer months to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Escalator installation advances at Parliament Station east entrance 2018-05-24

Rideau Station 
Progress at the elevators continue with structural steel machine component installations, as well as painting. Escalator installations advance as well and the west concourse mezzanine progresses with rebar and decking. Work on the platform includes mechanical and electrical rough-ins, masonry walls and stair construction.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the summer months to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel

Rideau Station west entrance
Escalator commissioning is wrapping up soon in this location. Elsewhere throughout the west entrance, concrete works, tiling, mechanical and electrical works occur. At the west TVS, forming, rebar, and the sixth concrete pours occur for the sixth of seven pours. Waterproofing and backfill will follow next week

Rideau Station east entrance 
Elevator shaft and head house intumescent painting wraps up this week. Next week, entrance elevators, glass panels, and siding finishes will begin to be installed. Other ongoing works include electrical, mechanical, and ceiling installations.

East Portal 
Backfilling of the cut and cover portion of the tunnel entrance is almost complete.

uOttawa Station
​The elevator shroud install is underway. Fare-gate installation preparations are ongoing, and crews will pour the final floor topping at the fare-gate areas. Other scheduled works include the installation of windscreen glass panels starting at the end of the week.

East Stations

Lees Station
Work continues on the eastbound platform topping. Initial fare-gate installation works have started. Other scheduled installations include the canopy roof glazing and public art.

Hurdman Station
The work to install CMP is scheduled to conclude shortly. There is work anticipated on the north platform and south platform toppings. The entrance lanterns advance. The full-height glazing work is ongoing.

Tremblay Station
Fare-gate installation continues this month and utility cabinets will be going in. The wood ceilings have been completed.

St-Laurent Station
Porcelain panels are undergoing final finishes. The elevator glazing installation is ongoing. Crews are working on the fare-gates and lighting in that area. Other installations anticipated to begin include the concrete benches and public art.

Cyrville Station
Wood ceilings will be installed in the coming weeks. Crews will also work on the remaining signage, as well as the windscreens at the fare gates. Furnishings such as bike shelters and metal benches will also be going in.​

Guideway and Trackwork

Regular train-testing occurs between Blair and uOttawa stations and OLRTC is looking ahead to the extension of regular train-testing through to Segment 1 in the near future. Segment 1 and the tunnel progress towards permanent electrification. Assembly of LRV34 has begun.

Construction Update

At Tunney’s Pasture, crews focus on platform level works, the bus operator building, and composite metal panel (CMP) installations. At the central stations, architectural finishes are the focus but work on stations’ elevators and escalators advances as well. Finally, at the eastern stations, wood ceilings, wall panels, and light fixtures are being installed.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Eastbound and westbound platform topping slabs are ongoing. Other activities include finishes in the service rooms within the station. At the bus loop, crews will continue to work on the foundation walls for the bus operator building.

Bayview Station 
Crews continue to work on the topping slab on the eastbound platform; the topping on the westbound platform has been completed. Current works also focus on elevator glazing and the east plaza and east stairs formwork.The installations of CMP on the north and south roof are also continuing.

Pimisi Station
Installation of CMP in the lower concourse are expected to conclude in the coming weeks. Elevator glazing work is scheduled. The public art eel structure was installed this week.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Progress at Lyon Station is ongoing and includes electrical installations such as the fire alarm system, communication devices, and public lighting. Ceiling panels and the grade level entrance wood ceiling framing progress, and crews continue to work on the elevators.

Parliament Station 
Preparatory works for intumescent painting, pouring of the curbs for the elevators, and door hardware installations are among the works scheduled to take place. The south ceiling framing is underway, as is the concourse tiling and platform-level HVAC and electrical works including the insulation and the rough-ins.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during daytime hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west TVS
The second concrete pour takes place and crews prepare for the upcoming third wall section pour with waterproofing and rebar installation.

Parliament Station east TVS
Plumbing and hydrovacing occur at the east TVS.

Rideau Station 
Elevators are the focus at Rideau Station with concrete curb construction, and structural steel painting. Masonry and the upper deck is installed for the west concourse HVAC room, and stair construction advances.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during daytime hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Crews have begun the escalator and stair enclosures. Other activities focus on escalator commissioning, concrete works, and ongoing mechanical and electrical installations. At the west TVS, forming, rebar, and concrete pours occur for the fifth of seven pours. Waterproofing and backfilling will follow in the coming weeks.

Rideau Station east entrance 
Elevator shaft and head house intumescent painting progresses this week. Other ongoing works include electrical, mechanical, ceiling, and tile landing installations.

East Portal 
Backfilling of the cut and cover section of the tunnel continues this week.

uOttawa Station
​Windscreen glass panels are installed along the Nicholas Avenue side of the station. The elevator shroud installation is underway. Preliminary work for fare-gate installations are ongoing.

Lees Station
Wood ceiling framing continues. Crews are also doing the layout and preparatory works for the concourse level floor topping, and for canopy roof glazing installation. Structural steel painting is almost completed. The heat trace installation is ongoing at the east exit stairs..

Hurdman Station
The composite panel installation is expected to wrap up in a few weeks. Installation of full-height glazing is ongoing. Crews will also be continuing mechanical and electrical fixtures installations at the platform level followed by the lower concourse level.

Tremblay Station
Wood ceiling installations will be continuing. Stair handrails and glazing will be ongoing until the end of May. Fare-gate installation is expected to be complete later this month.

The wood ceiling work is being finalized. Platform doors are also almost completed. Landscaping is ongoing and public art will be installed in the coming weeks.

Construction Update

In the west, crews focus on platform level works such as topping slabs, lighting installations and windscreen glazing. There’s visible progress at the central stations as well with streetscaping, architectural finishes, and elevator and escalator installations. In the east, wood ceilings, wall panels, and light fixtures are being installed.

Windscreen glazing is ongoing at Bayview Station 2018-05-08

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Crews continue to work on the both the eastbound and westbound platform topping slabs. Other activities include finishes in the service rooms within the station. At the bus loop, crews will continue to work on the foundation walls for the bus operator building. Also, at Tunney’s Pasture Driveway on May 15, work got underway to replace a manhole and reconstruct the sidewalk, this work has resulted in the closure of the southbound right-turn lane onto Scott Street and will be in effect until late August.

Bayview Station 
Work to install the platform edge light housing is expected to continue for a few more weeks. Crews are completing the topping slab on the westbound platform and the windscreen glazing. Composite panels are going in at the north and south ceilings. The centre-line of the multi-use pathway (MUP) is to be painted.

Pimisi Station
Waterproofing of the upper concourse is expected to continue over the coming week. In addition, crews are scheduled to do sand blasting on the lower concourse soon. Work on the new Booth Street Bridge bike lanes is expected to begin in the coming weeks.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Elevator glazing continues at the west entrance. Throughout the station, fire alarm and communications devices are installed and tiling progresses. Artwork painting is ongoing, as is wood ceiling grid installation at the entrance levels, and concourse platform ceiling panels and insulation. Streetscaping works occurring around the east Tunnel Vent Shaft

Parliament Station 
Streetscaping, glazing, and framing advance at the east entrance. At the west entrance, glazing, door installations, and ceiling grid framing advance. Intumescent painting, tiling, and escalator installations occur in all areas of the station. Moreover, crews continue to work on the communications room.

Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel. The Queen Street closure between Bank and O’Connor continues.

Parliament Station west TVS
Installation of the second section of wall rebar begins this week. This prepares the TVS for next week’s formwork installation and an upcoming concrete pour.

Parliament Station east TVS
Demobilization concludes and plumbing works take place.

Streetscaping at Parliament Station east entrance 2018-05-14

Rideau Station 
Structural steel installation and painting continues for station elevators. The lower mezzanine concrete slabs are poured while escalator installation and commissioning is ongoing. Mechanical, electrical, masonry, and communications equipment installations are also occuring.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Rideau Station west entrance
At the west TVS, forming, rebar, and concrete pours occur for the fifth of seven pours. Next week, crews will work on the escalator and stair enclosures.

Rideau Station east entrance 
The entrance head house continues to take shape with intumescent painting and electrical and mechanical installations. Ceiling installations and tiling occur at the station landings.

Backfilling continues at East Portal 2018-05-15

East Portal 
Cut and cover tunnel backfilling continues this week.

uOttawa Station
Canopy glazing installations will be completed soon, and preparation is underway for the concrete topping slab. Elevator glazing installations near completion. The plaza stairs also approach completion. Last week, windscreen glass panels were installed along the west side of the station during daytime closures of Nicholas Street.

Intertrack and intercar barriers are installed at Hurdman Station 2018-05-14

East Stations

Lees Station
Crews will be busy completing ceiling work, including mechanical and electrical installations, in advance of architectural wood finishing. Other activities include finalizing concrete topping slabs at both the eastbound and westbound platforms.

Hurdman Station
The composite panel installation is expected to wrap up in a few weeks. Installation of full-height glazing is ongoing. Crews will also be continuing with the mechanical and electrical fixtures installations, at the platform level followed by the lower concourse level.

Tremblay Station
Wood ceiling installations will be continuing. Stair handrails and glazing will be ongoing until the end of May. The end-of-platform doors are to be installed. Fare-gate installation is expected to be complete later this month.

St-Laurent Station
Stair railing and post installations  are ongoing and are expected to be completed next month. Station utility cabinets are going in. Light fixture installations are ongoing.

Cyrville Station
Elevator lighting is being finalized, while general station light fixture installations are ongoing. Other scheduled works include the electrical rough-ins for back-lit entrance lanterns, and windscreen installations at the fare-gate area.

Blair Station
Wood ceiling work is ongoing, as is the upper concourse glazing installation. Landscaping around the station is ongoing and public art components will be installed in the coming weeks.

Construction Update

This week in the Confederation Line tunnel, ceiling panels are going up at both the concourse and platform levels in Lyon Station, while over at Parliament Station the inter-track barriers are now installed. Crews are also forming the vertical walls of the Parliament west tunnel ventilation shaft (TVS). Over at Lees Station, the wood ceiling framing has started and just outside uOttawa Station, the entrance plaza stair landings are being poured and the paver installations are underway. In the Western Segment, at Bayview Station, the topping pours on the west-bound platform are progressing.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Current activities include elevator glazing work and completion of the service rooms within the station. Crews will be commencing the excavation and foundations for construction of the bus operator building. Note: The Tunney’s Pasture Driveway southbound right-turn lane was closed this week until the end of August to allow for Station construction.

Bayview Station 
Crews are completing the topping pours on the west-bound platform, the windscreen glazing, and painting of the steel columns. Electrical rough-ins for the concourse and platform are ongoing, as are the composite panels in the north and south roof.

Pimisi StationCrews are preparing to pour the platform topping slabs and are completing the artwork foundations. Around mid-May, the canopy glazing will be going in. Framing for the composite panel ceiling is also scheduled.

Inter-track barriers are installed at Parliament Station 2018-05-08

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Ceilings are the focus this week with panel installation at both the concourse and platform levels and wood ceiling installation at the grade level station entrances. Ongoing works include tiling; mechanical works; communications system wiring; and painting, both intumescent and artwork. In addition, crews install the fire alarm system, digital signband conduit, and light fixtures.

Parliament Station 
This week, the curbs are poured and glazing is installed for the elevators. The communications rooms continues to be prepared, inter-track barriers are installed, and concourse tiling is ongoing. Additionally, doors are installed and prepped for paint, and next week, hardware will be installed. Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west TVS
Installation of the first section of wall formwork wraps up and the first concrete pour takes place. Next week, rebar installation for the second wall section will begin.

Parliament Station east TVS
Backfilling and civil works conclude and demobilization takes place.

Ongoing stair construction at Rideau Station 2018-04-30

Rideau Station 
Concrete works ramp up this week. West concourse concrete walls are completed and concrete pours for the lower mezzanine slabs occur, in addition to works at the platform level. Construction of the stairs and masonry walls is ongoing. Moreover, mechanical and electrical rough-ins progress for the eastbound platform and crews continue to install steel, paint, and pour concrete curbs for elevators. Hydrovacing at street level will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.
Rideau Station west entrance
Current activities focus on escalator commissioning and ongoing mechanical and electrical installations. At the west TVS, stripping, backfilling, and waterproofing takes place in preparation for the fourth concrete pour. Rebar and formwork installation will occur next week for the fifth pour.

Rideau Station east entrance 
Continuing this week; plumbing, sprinkler, HVAC, electrical and mechanical installations. Intumescent painting occurs at the elevator shafts and at the head house. Next week, elevators will be installed.

East Portal 
Backfilling up to street grading continues this week.

uOttawa Station
Canopy glazing is underway, and the installation of elevator shrouds is expected to begin shortly. The plaza stair landings are being poured, and the paver installations are underway. Composite panel installation wrapped up last weekend and elevator glazing is scheduled to conclude.

Ceiling panel installation and framing progresses at Lees Station 2018-05-02

East Stations

Lees Station
Wood ceiling framing is starting. Crews are also installing heat trace wiring at the south-east exit stairs. Elevator glazing is underway, and canopy glazing is expected to begin soon.

Hurdman Station
The windscreen and fare-gate glazing is expected to be completed later this month. The edge-of-platform lighting is ongoing. The artwork support has been installed.

Tremblay Station
Stair handrails and glazing will be ongoing until the end of May. The end-of-platform doors are to be installed. Fare-gate installation is expected to be complete later this month.

Windscreen glazing installation advances at Hurdman Station 2018-05-02

St-Laurent Station
Railing and post installation at stairs is ongoing and is expected to be completed later this month. The concourse flooring is being finalized. The floor finishes are ongoing. Lighting installations are ongoing.

Cyrville Station
The elevator lighting is being finalized. Light fixture installations are ongoing. Other scheduled works include the electrical rough-ins for the entrance lanterns, and windscreens for the fare-gate location.

Blair Station
The wood ceiling work is ongoing, as is the upper concourse glazing. Platform doors are being finished. Landscaping is ongoing and concrete benches will be delivered soon.

Guideway and Trackwork

Overhead Catenary System (OCS) installations continue throughough the tunnel and western portion of the alignment. Regular train-testing occurs between Blair and uOttawa station and OLRTC is looking ahead to the extension of regular train-testing in Segment 1 in the near future. Permanent OCS power will extend to the west in the coming weeks.

Upcoming Construction Activities

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Wood ceilings are going up, beginning at the easternmost stations.
  • Digital signband, light-band and entrance lanterns will be installed at the eastern stations.
  • Completion of stairs at the S-MUP (multi-use pathway) at uOttawa Station.
  • Start of construction of bike lanes on the Booth Street Bridge.
  • Windscreen glass installation at Tunney’s Pasture Station.
  • Installation of stray current monitors at various locations along the guideway.
  • Skylight glazing installation at Tunney’s Pasture Station.
  • Landscaping at Hurdman Station bus loop will begin in the coming weeks.

Construction Update

All of the rail has now been installed along the Confederation Line.Windscreen and fare gate glazing is in progress at Tremblay Station and Hurdman Station, while canopy glazing is underway at Lees Station. At Tunney’s Pasture Station, current activities include elevator glazing work and the excavation and foundations needed for the bus operator building.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Current activities include elevator glazing work and completion of the service rooms within the station. Excavation and foundations will begin shortly for construction of the bus operator building.

Bayview Station 
Works this month will focus on fabrication and installation of the full-height mullions, windscreen posts and windscreens. In addition, crews expect to complete the roof glazing and elevator glazing in the coming weeks.

Pimisi Station
Crews are preparing to pour the platform topping slabs and are completing the artwork foundations. Around mid-May, the canopy glazing will be installed. Framing for the composite panel ceiling is also scheduled.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
This week, rebar installation and concrete pours for the north platform edge takes place. Crews install the fire alarm system, communications systems and devices, and digital signband conduit.  Work on ceiling ductwork progresses, alongside tiling, painting, glazing and door installation. In addition, the wood ceiling begins to be installed.

Parliament Station 
Construction advances with work on fan rooms, elevator glazing, and rough-in installations throughout the station. Tiling and work on the station’s communications room progresses. In addition, door hardware installations and painting is taking place. Hydrovacing will continue intermittently during daytime hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west TVS
Installation of the first section of wall rebar wraps up and formwork installation occurs. Next week, the first concrete pour will take place.

Parliament Station east TVS
The grate is set and the final concrete pour takes place this week. Next week, shoring will be removed and waterproofing and backfilling will occur.

Escalator installation at Rideau Station west entrance 2018-04-30

Rideau Station 
Passenger platforms progress with the installation of doorframes, mechanical and electrical rough-ins, and the construction of stairs to the concourse level. Overhead conduit installations and work on the elevators with structural steel installations and painting advances. Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Rideau Station west entrance
The concourse topping is poured this week and escalator commissioning is ongoing. In addition, equipment is installed in the communications room. At the west TVS, waterproofing, and rebar and formwork installation occur. Towards the end of the week, the fourth concrete pour will take place.

Rideau Station east entrance
At the platform level, fire separation walls are constructed and doors and hardware are installed. Elsewhere, mechanical and electrical installations take place, and painting occurs throughout the station.

East Portal
Backfilling takes place next week.

uOttawa Station
Composite panel installations are nearing completion. Digital signband installation is underway. Crews are scheduled to put up the canopy glazing shortly. The steel and the electrical rough-ins for the entrance lantern signs are also expected to be installed.

Lees Station
The canopy glazing is in progress and is anticipated to conclude mid-May. The elevator shroud has been completed. Other scheduled works include: light fixtures at the digital signband; handrail posts and handrails; and wood ceiling framing.

Hurdman Station
The windscreen and fare gate glazing is expected to be completed later this month. The edge-of-platform lighting is ongoing. The artwork support has been installed.

Tremblay Station
Windscreen and fare gate glazing is underway, as are the stair handrails and glazing, which will be ongoing until the end of May. The canted wall glazing is being finalized. Crews also expect to complete the elevator cladding and the elevator glazing.

Construction Update

Work on the digital signband and communications infrastructure (such as PA systems and cameras) continues across the eastern stations. In the central segment, architectural works are ongoing at Lyon Station and include intumescent painting, tiling, and work on the elevators. At Rideau Station, intumescent painting is underway on the entry beams and grade level structure steel.

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Crews continue to work on the composite metal panels (CMP). Crews will be installing windscreen glass at the station and are working on the three buildings that make up the bus loop.

Bayview Station 
Current activities focus on CMP installation at the south roof. Crews are also preparing the platform for concrete pours later this month and completing the concrete formwork and rebar for the west plaza stairs.

Pimisi Station
Porcelain panels are being installed at the stairways, and at the entrance canopy, there is work taking place to complete the roof. Crews are also installing edge plates on the platform.

Lyon Station 
Architectural works are ongoing at the station and include intumescent painting, tiling and work on the elevators. There is also work to install the intertrack barriers, mechanical and electrical installations, and platform and concourse ceiling ductwork.

Parliament Station 
This week, elevator structural steel and glazing are installed, commissioning of the east-concourse HVAC continues, and tiling is ongoing throughout the station. Moreover, fan installation progresses and there is formwork and rebar going in at the east concourse mezzanine.

Parliament Station west entrance
Construction activities include intumescent painting, conduit installation to enable head house power, and work on the upper concourse walls. Meanwhile, escalator installation and assembly progresses. The crews at the west TVS focus on waterproofing and rebar installation.

Parliament Station east TVS
The third concrete pour took place this week. Crews began installing formwork for the backside of the TVS shaft in preparation for the fourth concrete pour. Next week, rebar installation and the forming of the inside of the shaft will occur.

Rideau Station 
Visible progress is made at the station with stair construction, platform and concourse level wall construction, and elevator steel installation. Conduit, plumbing and ventilation systems are being installed. Hydrovacing from street level will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Rideau Station west entrance
The focus at the west entrance this week is commissioning the newly installed escalators. In addition, the West TVS progresses with rebar, formwork, concrete pours and waterproofing. This work is related to the second of five concrete pours.

Rideau Station east entrance
Intumescent painting continues this week on the entry beams and grade level structure steel. The adit progresses with arch formwork stripping. Next week, work on the head house envelope resumes and the ceiling is installed at the stair landings.

East Portal
Waterproofing is still be completed, in preparation for the backfill of excavated areas.

uOttawa Station
Crews are working on the housing for the edge platform lighting and are preparing to do the concrete pour for the entrance stairs with connection to the S-MUP (multi-use pathway). Crews are also at work on the elevator glazing, the composite panels, and the porcelain panels.

Lees Station
CMP installations on the main roof are ongoing. Crews are also working on the pours for the westbound topping slab and completing mechanical and electrical finishes in advance of wood ceiling work.

Hurdman Station
The installation of the PA system and cameras has started. The CMP work for the south side is complete and the CMP work for north side begins. Crews are also working on the tall glass at the north side.

Tremblay Station
Current activities focus on the digital signband and the platform edge lighting; composite metal panels; and elevator glass. Cameras and speakers are also going up throughout the station.

St-Laurent Station
Digital signband installation is underway. Porcelain panels are ongoing. The work on the mullions for the glass walls is mostly complete. The electrical work at the BRT level is substantially completed. The entrance lantern sign structure has been completed.

Cyrville Station
Crews have completed the outstanding curbs on the upper concourse. Work on the digital signband continues. Landscaping work is scheduled to resume in the coming weeks, including pouring concrete for the bike racks.

Blair Station
Wood ceiling installations continue. Completion of handrails is underway and there is ongoing work on the edge-of-platform light band and digital signband.

Construction advances with the delivery of the west TVS axial fans and fan installation. Wiring for the communications systems progresses and so does station tiling. Conduit and intertrack barriers are installed and crews continue to work on the elevators.

Parliament Station 
Installation of elevators continues this week and includes platform-level glass installations. Work on the stairs, rough-in installations and the commissioning of the east concourse HVAC is all ongoing. Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west entrance
Intumescent painting is ongoing and electrical and drainage systems installations are underway. Meanwhile, escalator installation and assembly progresses. The west TVS continues to take shape with raft slab rebar and concrete pours and the commencement of rebar installation for the first wall section.

Parliament Station east TVS
Formwork installation is ongoing and the second concrete pour occurs at the end of this week. Crews will then strip the formwork and raise the access platform to begin installing formwork in preparation for the third concrete pour.

Escalator installation at Parliament Station 2018-04-09

Rideau Station 
The station continues to take shape with stair construction between the platform and concourse levels and elevator steel installation. Conduit, plumbing and ventilation installations occur throughout the station, and crews work to finish the floor topping in the elevator machine room.
Over the coming weeks hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours from street surface, to clean out underground lines in the tunnel.

Rideau Station west entrance
Escalator delivery and installation continues this week, followed by commissioning in the coming weeks. The West TVS progresses with rebar and formwork related to the first of five concrete pours.

Rideau Station east entrance
Intumescent painting of the entry beams and grade level structural steel is the focus at the east entrance. Other works include formwork and concrete pours for the adit roof arch and ongoing mechanical and electrical works.

East Portal
Waterproofing will begin shortly in preparation for the backfill of excavated areas..

uOttawa Station
Crews are working on the housing for the edge platform lighting and are preparing to do the concrete pour for the entrance stairs with connection to the S-MUP (multi-use pathway). Crews are also at work on the elevator glazing, the composite panels, and the porcelain panels.

The handrails are being completed at the station, while wood ceiling installation continues. There is ongoing work on the edge-of-platform light band and digital signband.

Guideway and Trackwork

Crews will work on electrification of the western alignment and the tunnel. OLRT-C has successfully moved a train through the tunnel from the East Portal in order to begin train-testing in the west along Segment 1. Currently in the tunnel, the east bound track slab has been completed and the west bound track slab continues to progress.

This week at the eastern section of the Confederation Line, crews are completing the concrete topping slab at Tremblay Station’s entrance area while in the west, at Bayview Station, crews are working on concrete formwork and rebar for the west plaza stairs. The central stations progress as well with concrete works occurring at all four stations.

Crews continue to work on the precast concrete steps installation and the installation of composite metal panels (CMP) on the south roof. The windscreen glass is arriving and the skylight frames have completed installation.

Current activities focus on CMP installation at the south roof. Crews are also doing the concrete formwork and rebar for the west plaza stairs. Electrical rough-ins at the concourse and platform are continuing, as are finishes in the lower ancillary building

Construction is ongoing and includes artwork painting; ductwork and permanent lighting installations; tiling throughout the station; and intumescent painting. In addition, wiring and device installation takes place for the communications systems and crews continue to work on the elevators.

Parliament Station 
Crews are busy installing elevator, electrical, mechanical and ductwork rough-ins throughout the station. The communications team is setting up the station’s communication room, and escalator installation progresses.

Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west entrance
Intumescent painting and additional concrete works occur while escalator installation and assembly progresses. Wall waterproofing and raft slab rebar and concrete pours take place at the west TVS.

Parliament Station east TVS
In preparation for next week’s second concrete pour, crews are busy installing rebar and formwork.

Rideau Station 
Visible progress is made at the station with stair construction and works related to the upcoming escalator installations. Rebar, formwork and concrete pours take place for the platform slabs and crews work to finish the floor topping in the communications room.

Rideau Station west entrance
Construction is ongoing and includes the installation of escalators and a separation wall in between. The West TVS progresses with rebar, formwork and the first of five concrete pours to build the shaft walls.

Rideau Station east entrance
This week, the adit arch is poured, followed by formwork stripping. Work on the head house envelope begins, while electrical and mechanical works are ongoing throughout the entire station.

East Portal

East Stations

Lees Station
Efforts will focus on the final platform topping pour, CMP installations, and the east exit stair formwork. Elevators are being finished in preparation for testing. Crews are also completing mechanical and electrical finishes in advance of wood ceiling work.
Hurdman Station
Porcelain panels are continuing. The CMP work for the south side is almost completed.. The wiring for the PA system and the cameras continues to be installed.

Tremblay Station
Saw cutting and sandblasting of the concrete topping slab at the entrance area continue, as do the electrical rough-ins for the entrance lantern. Crews are also finishing the installation of the elevator glazing. Cameras and speakers are also going up throughout the station.

St-Laurent Station
Digital signband installation is underway. Porcelain panels are ongoing. The work on the mullions for the glass walls is mostly complete. The electrical work at the BRT level is substantially completed. The entrance lantern structure has been completed.

Cyrville Station
Crews have completed the outstanding curbs on the upper concourse. Work on the digital signband continues. Landscaping work is scheduled to resume in the coming weeks, including pouring the concrete for the bike racks.

Blair Station
Handrails are being completed throughout the station, while wood ceiling installation continues. There is ongoing work on the edge-of-platform light band and digital signband. The elevator stainless steel cladding is completed.

Construction Update

In the underground stations, crews prepare the West Entrance of Rideau Station for the installation of elevators. At the East Portal, roof waterproofing resumes with backfilling to follow in the coming weeks. At St-Laurent Station, porcelain panel installations are ongoing and work on the mullions for the glass walls is mostly complete. In the West, at Pimisi Station, crews are putting up porcelain panels at the stairways and completing the roof at the entrance canopy, while at Bayview Station, work is taking place on the platform edge angles

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
The work to install composite panels on the south roof continues. The signband conduit has been installed on the south side and installations continue on the north. The skylight framing will begin.

Bayview Station 
The composite metal panels (CMP) and the windscreen bases and posts installations progress. Crews have completed preparations for the north side platform edge plates and preparations for the south side are ongoing. The wiring for the cameras and PA system continues.

Pimisi Station
This week crews are putting in edge plates on the westbound platform. Porcelain panels are going in at the stairways, and at the entrance canopy, there is work taking place to complete the roof. Crews are also making progress on the lower-concourse service rooms.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Platform level tiling begins this week, in addition to the various wall and floor tiling occurring throughout the station. Intumescent painting as well as art work painting progresses, and ceiling HVAC equipment is installed at the west entrance.

Parliament Station 
The east platform fan rooms have been handed over to the mechanical team and the east concourse HVAC continues to be installed and commissioned. Stairway construction and work on the elevators and escalator installations advance.
Hydrovacing will occur intermittently during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west entrance
Escalator installation and assembly continues at the West Entrance. Stair construction and additional concrete works are ongoing. Waterproofing and rebar installation take place at the west TVS.

Parliament Station east TVS
Formwork is installed in preparation for the first concrete pour at the end of the week. A second pour is expected to happen next week.

Visible progress is made at the station with stair construction, installation of overhead conduits, and mechanical and electrical rough-ins. Work continues on the passenger platforms and at the elevator shafts.

Rideau Station west entrance
This week, stair and escalator wall construction occurs. The west TVS continues with formwork, rebar and concrete pours. Additionally, escalator installation will commence as early as next week.

Rideau Station east entrance
Ongoing works include electrical and mechanical work throughout the station, and grade level intumescent painting. The installation of elevator divider beams wraps up this week. Roof arch adit forming continues in preparation for next week’s concrete pour.

East Portal
Roof waterproofing resumes with backfilling to follow in the coming weeks.

uOttawa Station
Crews are currently working on composite metal and porcelain panel installation. Formwork and rebar for the entrance stairs is underway. The snow-melt mesh and heat tracing are being installed.

This week on the Confederation Line, at Parliament Station progress continues to be visible, especially at the east concourse as masonry advances with forming and pouring. In the west, at Bayview Station, crews will be working on the platform edge angles on the eastbound and westbound platforms. Across the eastern stations porcelain panel and composite panel installations are underway.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Mechanical and electrical rough-ins continue for the roof and ceiling. The snow melting cables for the westbound platform will be installed. The north-roof wood ceiling framing is near completion. The three buildings in the bus loop progress.

Bayview Station 
Crews will be working on the platform edge angles on the eastbound and westbound platforms. They’re also working to complete finishes in the lower ancillary building

Pimisi Station
The crews continue to install the composite metal panels (CMP) for the north canopy.  There is continued progress in the lower-concourse technical rooms.

The arch formwork is stripped and mechanical piping is installed. Crews work on the concourse-level slab infill and lower escalator pit. The remaining construction for the stairways will pick up again next week. The west TVS advances with rebar and concrete formwork.

Rideau Station east entrance
The installation of elevator divider beams wraps up this week. Adit forming continues for the roof arch in preparation for next week’s concrete pour. Throughout the station, electrical and mechanical works are ongoing and intumescent painting occurs at grade level.

East Portal
Additional waterproofing and soil backfilling will occur next month.

uOttawa Station
Crews are currently working on composite metal and porcelain panel installation. Concrete formwork and rebar for the entrance stairs are underway. The mesh and heat tracing are being installed.

Downtown, crews are busy forming the platform and track slabs at Rideau Station, while at Parliament Station, the west TVS excavation advances. The wood ceiling installation is underway at Blair Station, more stations will follow with this architectural finish in the coming weeks. There is also significant progress seen at the Western Stations. At Pimisi Station, crews are looking to put the remaining porcelain panels in by the end of the month. And at Bayview, crews are ready to begin the platform edge angle installation and waterproofing.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
Crews are putting in the conduits for the south and north digital signband. The passenger information display system (PIDS) will be set up. The north-roof wood ceiling framing is near completion. The mullions for the glass are being delivered.

Bayview Station 
Crews are ready to begin the platform edge angle installation and waterproofing. They’re also working to complete finishes in the lower ancillary building. The inter-track barrier art work has been installed.

Pimisi Station
Crews are looking to have all porcelain panels in place by the end of March. The panels are currently being installed at the east-side canted wall. Meanwhile the composite metal panels (CMP) for the north canopy are 50% complete. The fascia and soffit work was also completed on the eastern side of the station.

Lyon Station 
Architectural work ramps up with artwork painting, glazing installations, and bike rail fabrication. Other ongoing works include: ceiling grid installations, topping slab pours, elevator works, and various mechanical and electrical installations throughout the station.

Parliament Station 
East concourse is the focus this week, masonry is stripped and the HVAC continues to be installed and commissioned. Elsewhere, construction of the stairways advances, escalators are installed, the communications room continues to be setup, and the first stage of rough-ins advances.

Parliament Station west entrance
This week, stair installation continues and crews prepare for upcoming intumescent painting. Elsewhere, hoe-ramming advances towards the west TVS breakthrough.

Construction at the east TVS includes formwork installation for next week’s concrete pour.

The arch progresses with formwork, concrete pours and stripping. Next week, the installation of mechanical pipes will begin. The west TVS advances with shotcrete removal and waterproofing. The first phase of rebar and formwork begins at the end of the week.

Mechanical and electrical installations are ongoing throughout station landings and utility rooms. Elevator divider beams continue to be installed, intumescent painting progresses at ground level, and roof arch forming for the adit takes place.

This week on the Confederation Line, at Parliament Station west entrance, work focuses on stairways with concrete pours and stripping occurring throughout the week. In the east, at uOttawa Station, crews gear up for upcoming porcelain panel installations along Nicholas Street. In the west, at Bayview Station crews are working on the composite metal panels (CMP) at the east roof, and once complete, the CMP for the south roof will begin.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
This week, the TVS axial fan and elevator installations continue, along with ongoing mechanical and electrical installations, including permanent lighting and communications systems. Other various architectural works occurring around the station involve interior and public art painting, tiling and bike rail installations at the stairways.

Parliament Station 
At the platform level, the mechanical team continues to work on the station’s west platform. At the concourse level, masonry, rough-ins, and the HVAC continue to be installed at the east concourse. Escalator and stair construction progresses, and stairways are being measured for bike rails.
Hydrovacing is now occurring during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel.

Parliament Station west entrance
Stairways are the current focus at the west entrance. Concrete pours and stripping continue throughout this week and into next, with formwork for the bike rail curbs commencing next week as well. Hoe-ramming for the west TVS breakthrough advances.

Construction at Rideau Station includes ongoing platform and track slab concrete pours, and the continued installation of mechanical and electrical rough-ins. Crews are also working on the curbs for the masonry walls and spraying the final layer of shotcrete in the east transition.

Rideau Station west entrance
As stairway construction advances, the upper section of the west entrance is the current focus this week. The arch connection between the station and entrance progresses as well with rebar installation and formwork in preparation for an upcoming concrete pour. The west TVS advances with shotcrete removal, and shoring and soft ground mining for the roof slab.

Rideau Station east entrance
Architectural works ramp up at the station and include: street level structural steel intumescent painting, interior painting, and ongoing mechanical and electrical work throughout the entire station. In addition, the elevator divider beam installation occurs and the adit roof arch progresses with rebar installation and formwork.

East Portal
Additional backfilling will occur in the spring.

The south roof composite metal panel (CMP) installation is continuing, while backfilling is taking place around the access ramp and stairs. Crews at uOttawa Station are also gearing up for upcoming porcelain panel and glass panel installations along Nicholas Street.

Construction Update

This week on the Confederation Line, at Parliament Station work focuses on masonry wall installation, rough-in installation, HVAC installation and commissioning at the east concourse. At Rideau Station, the west connection arch begins to take shape with rebar installation and forming. In the west, at Bayview Station installation of composite metal panels (CMP) at the east roof continues.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
The bus loop progresses with the bus operator, maintenance and supervisor buildings taking shape. Under-ceiling architectural finishes are continuing. Interior finishes and the mechanical and electrical work are ongoing at the station.

Bayview Station 
Installation of composite metal panels at the east roof continues, and crews are also completing the ceiling framing. In addition, plaza formwork is ongoing. Mechanical and electrical works continue.

Pimisi Station
Crews are working on ceiling framing on the platform, heat tracing installation, and pulling wires for communications. On the eastern side of Pimisi, the installation of fascia and soffit is ongoing.

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
The busy schedule of architectural works at this station includes: installation of permanent lighting and bike rails, tile installation at the east and west entrance stairways and concourse perimeters, art work painting, and work on the elevators.. Communications equipment continues to be installed and the installation of the TVS axial fan.

Parliament Station 
At the platform level, the mechanical team has begun to work on the station’s  north and southplatforms. At the concourse level, masonry wall installation, rough-in installation, and HVAC installation and commissioning all take place at the east concourse. Hydrovacing will occur during day time hours over the coming weeks to clean surface areas and underground lines in the tunnel in preparation for testing and commissioning.

Parliament Station west entrance
Rebar installation for the stairways takes place this week. This will permit crews to begin the various concrete pours and formwork stripping in the upcoming weeks. Hoe-ramming for the west TVS has begun.

Parliament Station east TVS
Waterproofing the entire shaft is occurring this week and rebar is delivered for the first concrete pour. Rebar will be installed next week, as well as formwork, and the concrete pour will occur in two weeks.

Stair formation occurs at Rideau Station - La construction des escaliers à la station Rideau est en cours

Rideau Station 
Platform pours are being completed. Crews are also working on the curbs for the masonry walls. The mechanical and electrical rough-ins continue.

Rideau Station west entrance
Stair construction is the focus this week at Rideau Station west entrance. Elsewhere, the arch begins to take shape with rebar installation and forming. Concrete pours will occur in the coming weeks.

Rideau Station east entrance
This week, elevator installation advances with the commencement of divider beam installation. Rebar for the adit roof arch is installed, intumescent painting for grade level structural steel concludes, and tiling, electrical and mechanical works are all ongoing.

East Portal
Soil backfilling will occur in the spring.

uOttawa Station
Progress continues on the wood ceiling framing, and the accessibility ramp and stairs. Crews at uOttawa Station are also preparing for upcoming porcelain panel and glass panel installations along Nicholas Street.

East Stations

Lees Station
The elevator installations continue, the glazing hardware installation is ongoing, and the composite metal panels (CMP) installation is ongoing. A platform toppings concrete pour is scheduled for the coming weeks.

Hurdman Station
Porcelain panels are being installed and composite panel work is progressing on the south side of station. PA equipment and cameras are being put up. The supports for the public art are to be installed.

Tremblay Station
Current activity focuses on the handrail posts and windscreen post bases; the layout and install of glazing and hardware; and the concrete topping slab at the fare gate area. Work on the platform signage and light fixtures is also underway.

St-Laurent Station
Crews are putting in porcelain panels at the platform level and scaffolding at the stairs in the plenum area. Installation of the lantern structure for the north side is also underway.

Cyrville Station
The current work focuses on ceiling framing, architectural finishes, glazing and preparations for the digital signband.

Blair Station
Testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment is ongoing. In addition, installation of the digital signband, and finishing the stainless steel elevator architectural panels occurs.

Guideway and Trackwork

In the tunnel, crews will continue to advance the eastbound and west bound track slabs at Rideau Station. Tunnel lighting installation is progressing. Overhead Cantenary System (OCS) hanger installation in the East Portal-Rideau area is underway.

Upcoming Construction Activities

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Wood ceiling installations at the eastern stations.
  • Installation of digital signband and entrance lanterns at the eastern stations.
  • Installation of porcelain panels and glass panels at uOttawa Station.
  • Installation of stray current monitors at various locations.
  • Pour of the arch at Rideau East entrance connection approximately end of March.
  • Construction of the Parliament Station mid entrance head house.
  • Parliament Station west TVS breakthrough.
  • Glazing work at Pimisi Station and Bayview Station.
  • Construction of the Rideau Station East entrance head house walls.
  • Escalator installation at Rideau Station west entrance.
  • Shoring and soft ground mining removal for the Rideau west tunnel vent shaft (TVS) roof slab.

Construction Update

This week on the Confederation Line, crews work to have the backfill and the waterproofing to grade done at the west entrance of Parliament Station, while rebar installation and concrete pours for the invert slabs at Rideau Station west entrance continue. At Tunney’s Pasture, the three buildings that make up the bus loop continue to take shape, while at Pimisi Station, fascia and soffit installation occur on the eastern side of the Booth Street Bridge continues.

West Stations

Tunney’s Pasture Station 
The bus loop progresses with the bus operator, maintenance and supervisor buildings taking shape. Crews are also focused on installing the duct bank to the bus loop. Interior finishes and the mechanical and electrical work are ongoing at the station.

Bayview Station 
Crews continue to frame the north roof at Bayview Station. Installation of porcelain panels for the stairways is ongoing, as is mechanical and electrical work.

Pimisi Station
Crews are working on ceiling framing on the platform, heat tracing installation, and pulling wires for communications. On the eastern side of Pimisi, the installation of fascia and soffit is ongoing.

Parliament West tunnel vent shaft

Central Stations

Lyon Station 
Insulation of the mechanical pipes on the south-west platform will soon be underway. At the concourse level, crews will place communications wiring in the cable tray and finish ductwork installation in the battery room. Painting of public art is underway at east and west entrances.

Parliament Station 
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing rough-ins continue all throughout the station. Crews are also assembling the escalators and elevators.

Parliament Station west entrance
Crews are waterproofing to grade and completing backfill between the station and the Sun Life building. Other activity focuses on falsework and formwork on the stairs, and the finishing works for the roof slab.

Parliament Station east TVS
Crews are completing the fan room at platform level. In the coming weeks there will be chipping on the shotcrete beams, repair to the waterproofing and construction of the concrete shaft.

Parliament Station west TVS
Crews are completing breakthrough shoring, as tunnel crews complete the shotcrete final lining.

Rideau Station 
Crews continue to work on pouring the last few sections of the eastbound passenger concrete platform. Also located on the platform level, construction of the mechanical closets is ongoing.

Rideau Station west entrance
The work on the invert rebar installation and the invert pours continues. Other activities focus on the west entrance arch, including waterproofing.

Rideau Station east entrance
Work is progressing on escalator conduits; intumescent steel coating paint; ceiling and escalator plywood; and tiling work. In addition, crews prepare to form and pour concrete in the connection between the east entrance and station.

East Portal
Concrete backfilling and waterproofing continue this week. Soil backfilling will occur in the spring.

uOttawa Station
Progress continues on the wood ceiling framing, and the accessibility ramp and stairs. Crews at uOttawa Station are also gearing up for upcoming porcelain panel and glass panel installations along Nicholas St.

Elevator installation at Blair Station

East Stations

Lees Station
Ongoing preparation for the platform topping concrete slabs. Crews are also working on composite metal panel (CMP) installation. The east entrance stairs continue to take shape with a first pour coming shortly.

Hurdman Station
The mechanical rough-ins continue, there is ongoing work on two of the elevators, and crews are running conduit below the guideway. Crews are also completing the artwork support installation and completing the framing for the east auxiliary building.

Tremblay Station
Crews continue to work on the shroud at the south elevator tower. They are putting in handrail posts at stairs, completing the windscreen post installation, and continue working on the artwork supports.

Construction is ongoing at Cyrville Station

St-Laurent Station
Crews are putting in porcelain panels at the platform level and scaffolding at the stairs in the plenum area. Installation of the lantern structure on the north side is also underway.

Cyrville Station
The current work focuses on ceiling framing, architectural finishes, glazing and preparations for the signband.

Blair Station
Testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical equipment is ongoing. In addition, installation of the signband, and finishing the stainless steel elevator architectural panels occurs.

Guideway and Trackwork

In the tunnel, crews continue to work on the track slabs between Parliament Station and Rideau Station, and dowel installation occurs between Lyon Station and the West Portal. In the West, activities include rail installation at Tunney’s Pasture. Train testing continues on the eastern stretch of the alignment.

In the coming weeks, the following construction activities are scheduled to occur:

  • Wood ceiling installations at the eastern stations.
